A familiar scene: you’re shopping for a whole chicken and you note the higher price for an organic bird, yet the often very significant smaller size. It can be hard to justify paying more for what looks like half the meat– but things aren’t always as they seem.
Not only are conventional chickens larger because they are often forced to be by the inability to move freely, poor feeding, and hormones, but they can also be injected in the supermarket!
Shop wisely. #GoOrganic or better yet, shop at your local farmer’s market.
